calico20hill I had the thought today “do I have room for one more variety?” Then I realized it doesn’t matter I will find the space/figure it out
Are your raised beds all the same dimensions? I’m sure that would help somewhat with the dahlia math…which I need a lesson in as well. I will tell myself I will space them 1 foot apart…then run out of space and say let’s see what happens with 10 inches apart and then I will move on to the grow bags
Ailhad Have you seen DS Doris in person? Photos don’t do it justice, such a stunning flower! Idk if dark reds fade the same way reds do but this flower had zero fade with an entire month of 90 degree weather.
AKWindWatcher I actually like things to be at super obscure or random times, then only the seriously devoted have a chance or at least a slightly better chance!
bloomhjelm This sounds like it would be fun. I will need that twelve hour lead and a good partner to help me.
Big Shout out to DA News...... "Nobody Asked But: Chicago is one of the longest-running and most successful rock groups of all time. In 1969 they released a song called '25 or 6 to 4'. In other words, 25 or 26 minutes until 4am aka 3:34 or 3:35am. Were you awake? I was asleep in spite of my west coast advantage, but I have been listening to amazing 60s-80s rock non-stop ever since I solved the opening time puzzle, and I'm calling that a win."
I tried and tried to understand the riddle, once I knew the answer, I tried to understand it. I read this five times over and now I get it.

I can’t lie, the “very heat tolerant” description grabbed my attention. I’m happy to hear your testimony!
Ailhad I know Doris ! ( and Dave)
Congrats to Noni on the popularity of her Salish public releases through Triple Wren. Really pretty.
Today I made a nice swap for Kilburn Glow and Taratahi Glow. I don't remember if it was said here before whether these are both Red Velvet's children.
I would like to thank Ted again for pushing me in the direction of cut flower dahlia growing, since that was where my interest lies. It is really fun being where I am now with the process and without the stress of growing for showing...
Thanks to Dahlia talk, I purchased Mingus Toni this morning.
Mark Harvey of Old House Dahlias said he has a goal of opening for sales this week end.
bloomhjelm great job!!
Old House has a lot of neat, older varieties (including some hard-to-find Hollyhills) at a great price. I appreciate when a vendor says a few words about the dahlia in their listing description.
