She also carries a whole lotta heirloom dahlias that I wish I had room for. They may not be the prettiest ones but I like the idea of continuing varieties that have been around as far back as the late 1800s.

Eric, it is unfortunate that you have so little self-control. I, on the other hand, did not buy a single tuber from Christen's Flowers. Unfortunately, my self-control can only be attributed to the fact I didn't see your post before they sold out of Hollyhill Serenity. 🙂

I saw that she had made a post in a Facebook group and was curious, looked at the site and saw HH Serenity and Skipley Spot, and quickly ordered them. HH Serenity was gone very shortly after that. 🙁

Yea that is impressive. I have not seen HH Bashful around much / offered, maybe next year I will be able to find it. HH Serenity makes good tubers for me usually 6 per plant and I rarely lose them overwinter. My favorite WL along with Maks Meredith from Al Kaas

NCDahlia I sold only one HH Bashful tuber and that was in error. Last several years we grew lots of it and it did not sell well. Now that people want it we grew very little of it. It is an excellent cutflower in the modern colors and has tight center.

HiDahlia I was so thrilled to see this. I’ve had an app monitoring her site for the last couple of weeks and was able to snag AC’s Tweedly Dee, Tweedly Dum, and Twisp. I couldn’t resist the Alice in Wonderland references. Did you snag any from her Breeders Corner?

I love that you’re growing both “Tweedly” varieties! I got AC Twisp, AC Tweedly Dum, and AC Cowlitz.

Is Jess' Dahlias a well kept secret? I never saw so many varieties at one seller, managed to get an AC Great White. Why so many new Ken Greenway varieties here and not at Cowlitz?

BTW does anyone else check every single unopen seller for desired tubers on Dahlia Addict? For us nuts it would be useful if newly added unopen sellers were marked with an indicator so we know which they were. The newly opened indicators really help!

todgor I, uh, get the impression Jess's Dahlia deliberately tries to avoid the drama of the public dahlia spotlight. I've assumed she asked to not be listed on DahliaAddict.

I don't know that much about her other than that.

todgor Whenever I add a new seller I make note of it in the news.
If they are open at adding, they will get the whole "just opened" foo-ferrah even if they have been open for months.

JessE may be able to shed some light on this.
I believe she mentioned Jess’ opening a couple months ago. I made 2 orders with Jess last year,
but never received a notice when she opened. She’s always had a killer collection of AC’s, so she must’ve worked out a deal with Ken.
He had some nice ‘23 intros. Good for you Krista for scoring Tweedly Dee, Tweedly Dum, and…

BTW… Sungate’s opened at 5 EST, but many sold out pretty quickly.

AndreaB Interesting (to me) that Belle of the Ball is starting to resurface. I know of three places that had it (in very ltd qty) for 2023 after nothing for some years.

I just counted and I have placed orders with 18 vendors. I knew it was bad. I just didn't know it was that bad.
