Juliarugula Teddahlia Not related to any Hollyhill variety Teddahlia the photo I was wondering about is a few posts up. Arobin673 I purchased this as HH Bewitched, is this just a color variety? Or is is a sport? I've only had one bloom.
magucci TNB I agree about video. I think it shows off the flower so much better. I love seeing them because I can see all the angles.
magucci Sandia Nocturne is really swoon worthy. This is a first bloom. Canāt wait to see what the next ones look like. I feel like itās a race against the clock right now.
Teddahlia Bewitched has numerous sports but probably not this one, Classic is white background with dark red spots. It is always a kick to grow if the stock is healthy and sports are common as are "wolf" petals.
calico20hill Teddahlia Except for the one that took down my garden at the end of September 2 or 3 years ago...and of course it was followed by weeks and weeks of good weather..... So far, so good this year. 75 degrees already at 10 AM and suppose to be up in the high 90's today. I've been out cutting ripe seed pods and it is VERY humid.
TNB Teddahlia that sounds like an absolutely fascinating flower! I love those sort of āhave to grow it to believe itā shades. Theyāre mesmerizing and one of the things that make growing so rewarding & fulfilling.
JessieC Some blooms: AC Twisp (Thank you @Krista I am in love š¤) Orange Globe with some interesting stripes on the top half of the bloom. This plant always frustrates me, and then it produces things like this. Bigger than a grapefruit and much prettier in person. A small batch from last month: Skipley Spot of Gold, HH Daydream (thank you again, Krista) Rose Toscano, and Valley Tawny: Orange Globe again, because I canāt figure out how to place my images in order.
Krista JessieC Oh your blooms, Gorgeous! Your AC Twisp looks more beautiful than it ever did in my garden. For some reason the blooms were very few and with a low petal count. Seeing yours, I understand the hype. The striations on your Orange Globe, wow!
Juliarugula JessieC Orange Globe again, because I canāt figure out how to place my images in order. Iāve noticed that it places the photos in the order that I select them. So the first one I pick is posted first, then the second, etc. if I want a different order, I have to unselect and the reselect in order.
Teddahlia Frost occurs early once in awhile. In Vancouver, Washington a killing frost occurred on September 10th(could have been 11th or 12th) one year and Phil Mingus was happy as he and Bill Mishler wanted to go hunting that year and digging dahlias was always a problem due to timing with hunting season. They dug early and went hunting. I am not a hunter and an early frost would cause problems for the collection of seed pods.
Juliarugula Teddahlia is this a lightly variegated HH Pink Tigress or something else? I really like it!
JessieC Since the tiger stripe Orange Globe is popular, hereās how it looks a few days later. It fades in such a pleasing way.
Emilyp I am really enjoying WB's Cecil. Such a lovely color combo that I don't see very often. It is a bit more peachy on the top side earlier in the season here.
