And now to let other flowers in so I don’t peony monopolise lol - my favourite early spring flower hellebore

    That is a fantastic photo!

    Lil' froggie is smiling!

Darce Peonies are a lot like dahlias in regards to form and variety, but so much less work!
We became peony collectors long before dahlias. Here are a couple of my faves.

All of yours are gorgeous but this Japanese one in particular is amazing- what is the name?
Yes peonies are easier in the long run for sure but the glorious quickness of the dahlia is so satisfying - a teeny tiny seed or smidge of a tuber can be a five foot plant in a few months. I am trying to grow dahlias and peonies from seed and really appreciate the dahlia as I wait 3 Looooong years for the first blooms on my peony seedlings 😂

AndreaB my gf bought me this one for my b-day the first year we dated. It was "Buckeye something" I wish I'd brought that one with me to NM.

blown_dry I grew these at my last place. THey are rather slow to grow and the pollen can really bother people with pollen allergies. Outside they are way cool! THey were rather slow growing, but by the time we moved way to big to dig and bring with us.

Darce It’s Julia Rose (Itoh). Many times there are multiple colors on the same bush. Google it!

Sorry, I can’t edit my post to name them.
They are: Julia Rose Itoh, Do-Tell, Buckeye Belle

Oh I planted a Julia Rose this fall - you just made me SO happy! I can’t wait for my first bloom😊

Darce I just love your hellebore, it's such a beauty. I bet it just glows on early spring, gray days.
