I received the notice, was planning to look when she opened, and totally forgot until tonight at 7pm. SO FEW were NOT sold out! Wow... even her AC Ben was sold out. Glad I didn't bother, have enough stress without my hobby getting that way. Would love to grow the new yummies, but I have grown more patient as the years go by.

I always open to my regular customers first, (and Cubit folk) with no mailing list option for non-customers. Amanda is always nice by waiting a day or two before posting on the site. I do well enough, don't want to have that kind of frenzy for my small amount of tubers. Crazy stuff. My way of thinking is that long-time customers are less likely to have a hissy-fit if something goes wrong, and will work it out with me privately instead of going to social media to complain.

blown_dry That's good. I really only wanted Allen's Alley Cat but struck out.

calico20hill I had to e-mail Ted to get the Hollyhill list. For some reason, I can't get into waterlilies; but I have always wanted to try Code Red so I grabbed a few of those. I loooove. Cornel; but am looking for another productive red as everyone grows Cornel and tubers are a bit tough to sell in mass.

AKWindWatcher Perhaps we could do an exchange next year, if yours do well. I would love to get it back, but not if I need to do backflips for it.

For a number of years now I have noticed that spelling is not Crazy 4's strength. I have learned to ignore it, but as a former teacher the urge is still there to circle the errors.

addicted I suffer from the same compulsion to point out spelling/grammatical errors … only to then commit my own and be left to eat my own words. I have less self control than you and I’m not proud of it.

By the time I got the Hollyhill list and tried to order they were all gone. It makes it hard when one goes out to the grocery store and something is over and done with while you buying a few groceries...or working in your greenhouse. Just hoping I can pick up a few at club sales, etc...otherwise I guess I have to wait until next year and hope something better happens. I did have my eye on several of those Allen's dahlias and the Hapet Cupid I think it was....

As to Cowlitz, I checked my email and there was nothing. I tried emailing her at the address I had for it and my computer told me it was not a valid address. It was the one I had talked to her on last year.

Maybe there is an invisible wall between my little hillside and the rest of the world? Looking for some fairy dust that will make it go away! But it is odd, I still get emails from other people...

calico20hill I successfully ordered 2 Hollyhill Leticia (?), one of which I simply won’t have room for, if I’m going to be honest with myself. I am a hobby grower on a small lot in downtown Seattle, WA. I’d be happy to send it on to you when they arrive. And if by any chance my orders aren’t cancelled by Cowlitz due to not meeting minimum order/tuber limitations, I’ll be happy to share the extras that were borne out of frantic flagrance. Not sure they’ll be the Allen’s you were eyeing but then, I suspect there’s a zero to none chance the orders will successfully go through.

"Krista Oooh,I would adore having a Hollyhill Letitia! We will also be going up the Puget Sound area sometimes this spring so I could pick up directly from you if you like. I am sure I could bring you other tubers or cuttings.

calico20hill Deal, it’s yours. I’ll be happy to arrange for pickup if it ends up working best or just pop it into the mail when it arrives. I’ll keep you posted and we can figure it out then. My space is overfull, but we’ll see how many more duplicates I can pawn off on others 😅 If I’m successful, I’ll be thrilled to do a swap with you for one of yours!

@calico20hill ”just pop it into the mail when it arrives”

I see now that I requested “3/13/23” as my ship date so we can plan on making arrangements sometime around then.

The variety I was really hoping for was Allen's Smoky Skies. Open to trades or purchase!

blown_dry The variety I was really hoping for was Allen's Smoky Skies

I can help you with that

calico20hill s. I did have my eye on several of those Allen's dahlias and the Hapet Cupid I think it was....

I was also eyeing Hapet Cupid but have nothing to show. If Allen’s Smoky Skies was one you wanted, I have spare to share

blown_dry I was hoping to see Allen's Battle Angel listed, it had such peculiar dusty-violet tipped petals. I understand Diablo was pulled for possible virus in trial gardens so perhaps this one met a similar fate.

janell Yes, Allen's SmokySkies is one that I just love and can't seem to get tubers of to hold over. IT made a pitiful tiny clump for me last year that was not even worth storing though I tried. .

I pulled one of my Allen's varieties last year for having really spotty foliage...I don't remember which it was. I know I have Annabelle extras I could trade. I'll have to check what my 2 others were. I am just going over my tubers for a check up now and writing how many I have which I did not do in packing them away. So far, most of them are doing fine.

I scored Battle Angel last year and hopefully it wintered. If it made it, I will take extra measures.
