Okay, after saying I'm so NOT into that rushing to order ordeal, I... errrrr..... just had a LOT of fun jumping into a restock frenzy. Didn't get a few, got lots others I've been looking for, so its all good. Got Valley Porcupine back; missed it more than I expected. Excited to try Valley Tawny and Tomaha Early Dawn, though I'm pretty sure I've bought the last one before, maybe twice? Starting to forget. Been wanting to grow Hamilton Lillian for years, never got around to it 'til now. Anyhooo, my heart started pounding like I was about to jump out of a plane. That frenzy thing could get addictive... and expensive.

will be new to me this year, too. We’ll have to compare pics.

CiCiVacation Tahoma Early Dawn is a beautiful dahlia! I have grown it for a number of years. It isn't one that multiplies a lot for me but I keep buying it because it is so pretty.

I talked with Kyle at Creekside this morning. He said the restocking will happen very soon. He just wants to do one more last count of everything before sharing a date. Said to watch his website closely as he'll post the information about a day ahead of time.

AKWindWatcher The temptation is strong but that method of ordering stresses me out just thinking about it. And also, holy Moses how have I never seen AC Methow until just now?! Wow!

AKWindWatcher it is really nice to see AC Aquarius is still around too. I'm gonna have to rethink my hesitance on ordering especially if those two are available. Thanks for the heads up!

Cool! I believe Cowlitz had AC Methow the first year that Accent was closed dofs hat. Hopefully she will have more in the future.

I have rec'd about a third of my orders, and I got them put in big (5 gal?) pots with potting soil to see what sprouts and what doesn't before planting out, but mostly so they are happy until I am ready to plant out.

Oh! This gives me an idea about what to do with my greenhouse overflow! I was already planning on trying some dahlias in bags and I still have space on the floor of the greenhouse under the benches! Just need to raise the bags off to floor due to water draining there .

SteveM - how did your Salish Berries Au Lait! do? in a cubits entry last year
, you said that you planted 10 plants. Just curious. Also possibly will you be interested in a trade for one. lol You knew that was coming. lol Here is an Mrs Islander picture:

StevenS I planted 20 plants of S. Berries Au Lait under 30-40% shade and the first flush was super. The stems got weak on the second flush so I moved the plants into full sun. The gophers found them to be very tasty and they ate them all before I knew what was happening. I have the original mother plant in my greenhouse so, if we ever get warm weather, I will be able to get several cuttings to grow this season. Noni doesn't want SBAL to be disseminated until she verifies the stability. Also, I never release a vendor's un-disseminated variety to the public without their permission. I am not sure how far along Noni is with a release date. It is a very nice dahlia and should be very popular with florists for wedding work.

Salish Berries Au Lait is not released yet. I had sent it to Steve M to try out and see how it did in his climate. I am still having trouble with mostly open centers on it but I do love the colors and hope one of its seedlings will do better. I believe SteveM did not have trouble with open centers but with the stems ...I did send some off to Triple Wren Farms to test out so we will see. I wish I could remember who it's seed parents were. That info might be buried back in the Cubits history. I think I had my first seedlings from it around 2018.I have had various form variation show up but really like the version pictured. When I saw it bloom first i thought that it was the ugliest flower ever LOL. I mentioned it on line and Sandy Boley set me straight on how special it was! I've been trying to breed a better one ever since.

calico20hill and SteveM ; thanks for the reply. I was not sure of the status. i will wait in anticipation. Or if you need a test grower in the midwest. i volunteer. 🙂 And SteveM, you may want to get a handle on your gopher situation. lol

StevenS I have various versions of Berries Au Lait going and if I can just get one to stay closed centered....It would be interesting to try it in different climates since I can't seem to get good closed centers. Every year I save seeds from it...maybe ths year I will get the right version? I am absolutely delighted with the pics that SteveM posted. I am also so happy that I talked to my neighbor when we moved here and she inspired me to make all my raised beds with gopher proof wire under them! Ted has mentioned gophers getting his several times and when we moved to this area not too far from where Ted lives I took that message to heart.

MY previous garden was on an Island where there were no gophers or skunks. Lots of moles and voles though. And deer. and cougars. And every few years a bear would swim across Puget Sound and take a rest for a few weeks on the Island before setting out across the water to find real wilderness in the coastal range. .
