Krista I will say paying via mobile device wasn’t successful, but via computer it was.

I chose to shop on my mobile device because I noticed ahead of time that the website was set up for Applepay, which is usually super fast on my phone with facial recognition.

My sister (not a dahlia person) was watching me over my shoulder as I got flustered with checkout and switched to PayPal. Me: “What?! Ship date?? I don’t know what ship date!!” Jenny, shouting: “March 1! Just put March 1!!” 🤣🤣🤣. I guess the dahlia-shopping energy is a bit contagious…

Juliarugula She sounds exactly like me during a sale I’ve beg / talked my partner into jumping into with me! The frantic insanity that sometimes overtakes is somehow unavoidable. And I try to forget everything that I said or did in those moments as soon afterward as possible. 🤣

I was able to get river coal mine, dumpster fire lol i love that name, RNX harley wild, RNX tana. Never grown any double orchids but willing to try them since clean slate for 2024. I put april 1 shipping

Has anyone heard when JS is opening?

I've never ordered from them. I believe (and I might be wrong) that during the January 2023 society meeting someone said they had already opened and closed. If that's the case, I would assume soon if they haven't already started to take orders.

He does sort of old school ordering, where you mail in a check. I don’t think he tends to announce a date ahead of time (doesn’t tend to be online much).

AKWindWatcher JS doesn't announce in any place I have ever had access to. But I'm fairly certain he hasn't opened yet. Even if he was only open for an hour, the change in offerings would get flagged on my monitor. I look forward to that one every year.

Jerry Schoenhauer is the owner of JS Dahlias and he grows a limited number of plants and sells some tubers. I still grow his JS Jenny that is related to Spartacus and is a sport of a sport of a sport or some such thing. It looks like the Spartacus sport called Steve Meggos but seems to be a lot healthier. Last year there was some talk how he was overwhelmed with orders.

Barnstar florals just opened. I haven’t ordered from them before but they have some nice ones. (Sadly not Jane Cowl, which I had seen in one of their posts)

Anyone know when and if Big Dahlias (Cale Burr) will open. It failed to open in December as advertised.

Never seen it in person. 1928 was a long time ago. Named after a stage actress and the article says she picked it out from some other seedlings. I also like the comment that she had : “marvelous bovine eyes ” .

Of the 4-5 sales I was aware of this morning I only purchased from one (Old Barn blooms) which felt like good restraint for me. Avoca Amanda was hard to resist.

bloomhjelm I grew Avoca Amanda last year. It was a late bloomer for me, but gorgeous and worth it.
