Juliarugula Thank you!!!! I am so happy for this review and recommendation, I will definitely try Rugosa Friulana! Thank you for sharing your experience with rampicante, I’d much prefer growing winter and summer varieties individually if the duel purpose variety isn’t great in one category. And I’m with you, a lower yield for summer squash is actually a-ok 😍

My summer squash of choice is the yellow Crookneck Summer Squah with the bumpy skin. We just called them "crooknecks" when I was a kid but I think there are others that get called by that name. My grow bag ones are not nearly as productive as ones we have grown in the past. IT is disappointing to get only a couple a week. But they do have a deep rich flavor unlike a zucchini.

calico20hill I’ll keep my eyes peeled for this type too and give them a whirl if I can. My partner isn’t a big fan of summer squash so low production of a tasty variety is perfect for filling only my mouth! 😊

Back yard at peak season. My wife does not allow dahlias here lol. Also have it fenced from deer so can grow a bit of hostas. But more of her area than mine. I did do the wall and water fall tho with a contractor took forever

I did an experiment with lisianthus this yr and pinched off some buds ( only left like 4-5 buds on a plant) this gave some gigantic lisianthus blooms. The biggest one ( not pictured here ) topped out at 6 inches across.

BackyardBouquets_17 That’s a cool experiment, thanks for sharing. I wouldn’t have thought to pinch Lisianthus. Do you have any photos of how you worked the larger blooms into arrangements?

BackyardBouquets_17 ooooh, thank you for sharing! I have some lisianthus I bought as really quite large plugs from a nursery so they've been done blooming for a while but most are putting out a decent albeit somewhat smaller second flush. I think I'll go out tonight and cut some of the extra buds off!

Krista Not of the biggest ones no. I grew those for someone else a Wished later I would’ve asked for photos. The attached pic is some that are larger than normal but not as gigantic as the lisianthus I sent photos of. The flowers in this bouquet is pretty much 3 stems of lisianthus , 3 dahlias , one stem of heirloom mum, 2 snapdragons, a bit of gomphrena and celosia. Because of the large size of the lisianthus this made a huge bouquet that is hard to get the actual size on a photo 😀

Teddahlia looks like a twisted really old lavender plant. At least over the years, I've pulled out a few that look exactly like that.

No correct guesses so far. I planted this in 1990 and it is in a spot where it has been undisturbed and allowed to grow willy nilly.
