DarcyD R6Mii,,, ohhhhh, NICE!!!!! The first Mark II was newly out when I bought my equipment. It was so tempting but definitely more pricey. The priceline looks like it has come down quite a bit! Tempting!

Hi I’m Jessie in Charlottesville Virginia! This was my very first bloom of 2022, and I imagine you all recognize it. Thanks for putting this forum together! I’ve enjoyed lurking on Cubits and hope to learn (and contribute) more here.
Beautiful photos, Darcy 😍

JessieC Hi Jessie! I'm also a former Cubits stalker, but I'm finding the courage to contribute in this new space. I'm looking forward to discussions about dahlias with you, welcome. Your dahlia bloom is beautiful!

Hi Jessie, Welcome. 🌼 Nice to see stalkers come to life!

Hi Jessie! I am also a former cubits lurker! So glad this new space was created and it inspired me to come out of the shadows too😂

Teddahlia I am foggy on this but I seem to recall reading a quote of yours somewhere that the petals of this one have a deep-colored reverse. I try peering closely at each photo I see of this elusive beauty but I've not seen one that showcases this quality. Which makes me think my memory is failing me. Beautiful bloom and photo!

HH Wicked Witch's seedling in PA. I unfortunately lost my HHWW plant. My sister has babied the same HHWW tubers since we acquired it. We found seeds the first year only. It's other seedlings where larger blooms in the yellow, amber, champagne color group but open centered. And then there is this one which I have been calling Hocus Pocus. It's form isn't as great as it's mama but I now have 30 tubers of this beauty. This year will be the make it or break up with it year. HH genetics run strong in this one with long, firm stems on a 5-6' plant.

Teddahlia Oh Lovely, yes I see it now; I do like this bloom very much, with more of the dark color presenting. Thank you for sharing this photo!

Cosey "Hocus Pocus" is a darling, fingers crossed for it this year. HH genetics certainly appears to run strong and long, firm stems on a 5-6' plant are very appealing.

          Darce Thanks Darcy!
          AndreaB Thank you Andrea 🥰
And thanks to Amanda for setting the whole thing up, and to all of you who share your knowledge and good cheer. It’s helpful during the dark and cold months.
I took up flower arranging as a pandemic hobby and quickly became interested in growing flowers, as well as finding sources for locally grown blooms. It’s been such an interesting time, to say the least.

Another photo from my 2022 harvest. I found this cute little vase at a rummage sale. I think it’s for tulips, but with a little “McGyver-ing” it makes a fine vessel for dahlias. Have a happy Monday everyone!

JessieC Another photo from my 2022 harvest.

Very nice! What is the name of the pink one, top left?

              DarcyD

Your pics are such a welcome shot of color! I have always wanted to grow ms prissy - I love how swoopy the petals are - was it very floriferous for you?
