How much "cupping" is the question on the table. One of our WL seedlings has been criticized by some judges as having too much. Steve and Sandra Boley have their '"tulip" dahlia that he wants to be called a novelty. There seems to be some genes floating around that add cupping to waterlilies in different levels. More genes more cupping. And the issue of folding up at night is part of the equation. The Boley flower seems to have the extreme folding 24-7 although I personally only saw the flower at night.
