Your Tweedly Dee is super fun! I haven’t gotten any half and half blooms. Dee and Dum have been consistent favorites of my new varieties this year! I hope I get some good tubers!

Juliarugula Same! I’m surprise loving the Dee and Dum blooms, and wasn’t expecting them to be as large as they are for whatever reason. I’ve found both Dum blooms so far to be clockfaced on the stem (very sturdy stems albeit), are your blooms better positioned?

Harvey Koop foliage is looking a little funny so he’s over on the fence line for review, away from the pack.

Clearview Leroux’s first blooms were underwhelming thanks to my pinching-negligence. Ever since, they’ve been bodacious and a very fun color-pop in the garden. I think they look even more fabulous in the garden located next to KA Cloud which offsets it with equally sized, but white blooms. And for more color comparison, you can see how River’s Dark Chocolate poking up behind in this photo too.

Teddahlia This one is skipping the line towards the very top of my want-list suddenly too, thanks for this gorgeous shot!

[Edit: I’ve really enjoyed dark stems this year, and it looks like Hollyhill Court Jester may have this quality which is another plus from me!]

Teddahlia Picotee pigment has a tendency to diminish as the flower ages. The pigment escapes and is diluted by the light color pigment near it. For many intensely colored flowers this is true also.

This does happen with AC Twisp, but the blooms from mine take a loooong time to get to the fading point. Usually all the other dahlias in an arrangement are done well before Twisp for me - it’s a really great cut flower!

I want to say mine have been about 50/50 on Dum, mostly clockfaced on Dee.

Krista AC Twisp is so beautiful. I love the color and twisting petals. Do you have any idea if it is a cut flower vs. an "event" flower that only lasts a day or two?

Bessie I’m not sure, this photo was taken last Tuesday when this first bloom looked close to completely open on the plant. I left town for work that day and returned Friday to find the back half of the bloom had shattered. I’ll test vase life when the next bloom arrives and be able to give you a better answer (it looks like it’ll be a little while unfortunately). I will say the stems are solid and the bloom position was a perfect 45.

Ah good to know. With blooms this large, the clockfacing makes them difficult to enjoy in a vase. Hoping we both see some improvement!

I can't get over how cool the bloom is on Mingus Wesley. It develops quite a progression color-wise when it blooms. This is probably it's final phase.

Hollyhill Serenity looked stunning. Am I biased? Nice set of pictures.

Teddahlia this year Hollyhill Serenity was a survivor from a pathetic cutting that overwintered on my patio. I did not think it would make it, but I successfully took some of the tiniest cuttings. It is growing in a 1 gallon container sunk in the ground. The first several flowers were massive, about 7 inches across. It looks like it's on steroids, compared to last year when it was in partial shade fighting off gophers. A few more glowing photos.

@Teddahlia growing in the same area as Hollyhill Serenity are a few plants of Hollyhill Pandora that look like they are also on steroids.

AndreaB I ordered My Forever during the late spring Swan Island 30% off sale so it got a slow start growing. The bloom has great substance and was very beautiful, reminding me a great deal of the coloring of Hollyhill Serenity. I had to double check my photos to make sure I kept them separate. The stems are sturdy. I've only had a few blooms so far and I can see a few more buds coming. The plant is healthy looking, with a thick main stock. Unfortunately I should have pinched it to promote branching.
