blown_dry Yes, I think you’re probably right. This is the only bed I cover cropped and I’m now wishing the rest of our beds were as weed free and in the same great shape!
MissyWeitzel Oh this is great to hear! I did the same with some of our veg beds last year too but have found some large roots this spring that haven’t broken down. I’ve had to pull and compost them to make way for sowing new rows of tiny seeds. Have you had any trouble with this?
Teddahlia Wow 5’! That would indeed require a machine, my little hand tools wouldn’t be taking down your cover crop that’s for sure! The rye sure gets wispy and pretty as it grows taller and the foliage gets wider. It was so juicy when I was taking it down, thought a little cow sure would be happy munching on my cover crop!
