Do any of you have any special tricks for difficult to root variety cuttings? Of probably 80 varieties I'm taking cuttings of this spring, I have 2 problem children. The sprouts are nice, they aren't super fat or super skinny and they are the same size as other cuttings I'm taking and environment is the same. Yet cuttings from these 2 varieties keep rotting.
I had this happen last season with a particular variety, however this year cuttings from that variety are rooting well. That leads me to believe it could be tuber related, however one of the varieties I'm having problems with this year I have 2 tubers from different sources. So that leads me to have no idea what the heck is happening!
Is this just the way it goes for everyone? Do you have any advice or suggestions for me to try? I had visions of growing at least 10 of these this year and I'm gonna be sad if I can't get the next several cuttings to take!
