calico20hill [unknown]. That looks like half way between Salish Twilight Girl and Salish Lullabye. I don't have any of either in bloom yet . I know that I often see STG for sale with way too light a petal back . I try to edit my tubers that way but have such limited space to grow them out that I don't have a lot of them.

Juliarugula calico20hill the colors seem like they have much better contrast than when I grew Salish Twilight Girl a few years ago. ❤️
Juliarugula calico20hill what do you think of the last photo? (This one) Do you think it’s one of your seedlings?
Juliarugula I’m so excited to be able to post this side by side comparison! Early this spring, Missy Weitzel generously shared one of her Hollyhill Cheers tubers with me. I love being able to compare and contrast it with my Hollyhill Golden Glow!
Bessie JL Julia is blooming, grown from a tuber that was a Jim Lamson "new release". The very full 4" bloom is nodding under it's own weight. It's growing in a 1 gallon pot, sunk in the ground with drop irrigation. I've not given it any special care except covering the bloom with an organza bag.
Teddahlia Bessie ...that was a Jim Lamson "new release". He lives in Ontario, Oregon where the soil is known for it's ability to grow potatoes and onions among other things. It is hot and dry there and they frequently get heat spells of several days over 100F.
SteveM Hollyhill Big Pink: Grown in a container and not disbudded, still produces a 9", clean-pink, eye-popping bloom.
blown_dry A bouquet I took to my volunteer gig. Nice folks. Dahlias: Connie Thompson, Kilburn Glow, Hollyhill Margarita, Crocosmia (weeds 😛), verbascum
SteveM 20th Ave Softer Peach - BB FD Pink - really nice form and color. The plant isn't super tall but looks like it will have a lot of blooms with ample stem length. I really like this one and look forward to trialing it as a commercial cut in 2026.
Juliarugula SteveM I find a lot of the 20th Ave varieties to be shorter bushy plants. But they still usually have long enough stems for arranging. Not super long, but just enough.
SteveM Juliarugula 20th Ave varieties to be shorter bushy plants Until this year the only 20 Ave variety I'd grown was 20th Ave & Baker Rd which grows 5'+ for me. I guess I thought all of his would be tall.🙂
JessieC Juliarugula Me too. Well I have Softer Peach and Memory is new to me this year. They are short, bushy, and the first blooms have very very chunky stems, if that makes sense. Softer Peach on the left with Odyssey on the right for comparison.
MissyWeitzel Bloomquist Simple has coloring that I find difficult to capture. I took about 10 pictures all times of day today while they were on the plant and none were true. This is the closest. It has a purple sheen and golden tips and the dahlia shimmer. These are the first (imperfect) blooms of the season. I have a couple Bloomquist Simple seedlings in colored bud stage and I can't wait to see if they inherited any of the traits I love. 😊
Juliarugula SteveM oh! You’re right! I’m growing Baker Road for the first time this year and it hadn’t occurred to me that it’s a taller one. Last year at the trial garden Tranquility was about 5 feet also, but so far in my garden it’s stayed well under 4.
