The only one I grew through the whole summer last year was Lady Plymouth and it’s still my favorite! The scent is hard to describe but I like it in a similar way that I enjoy the scent of tomato plants and dahlia foliage - it’s bright and bracing.
Like MissyWeitzel said, I ordered quite a few varieties in the fall and potted them up and took cuttings. As expected, I have successfully killed several of the potted originals, but a few have survived my poor treatment of houseplants. My cuttings are doing pretty well though, and I’ve been able to take more cuttings from them.
It does seem like some varieties are easier to root than others. Also, I’ve found it difficult to tell from the ordering info whether the varieties are large leaf or small leaf. The small leaf varieties seem like they’ve been more delicate and finicky, and they also seemed less useful for arrangements. So I’m going to try to be more careful in my selections next order!
Apparently I didn’t do a great job of remembering to take photos of my arrangements last year, but I did find one picture.
