I have about 20 of these pollen free double Lillies I grew last year that are blooming again this year. One plant the petals are going wonky…but kind of a different look or “form” for a Lilly. Too bad it’s not a dahlia, I’d enter it into a novelty division of a show

I sold my first mixed bucket of cut scented geranium to one of my florist customers yesterday. She went crazy over it. There is apricot, pine, and Lady Plymouth (I received in trade from @Juliarugula !). I have 4 other types not quite large enough to cut coming soon too. It seems to be one of the easiest least fussy things to grow.

MissyWeitzel do you have any idea what the florist will use the scented geraniums for? I'm guessing boutonnieres, corsages, and hand held bouquets.

@calico20hill I will take cuttings in August so they have more time to grow before winter. I took cuttings in October last year and they just took a long time to get to a good size to take more cuttings from over winter so I want them to have more time this year! I plant them in the ground. I would love to plant them in giant pots and overwinter them so they get more massive each year, but dahlia tubers take up all my prime overwintering space.

MissyWeitzel isn’t Lady Plymouth amazing! All of mine are doing fantastic, but Lady Plymouth is still my favorite!

Bessie some of them can be fairly long-stemmed. Definitely long enough for smaller/shorter arrangements.

Since dahlias are not scented I like to include scented leaves in my bouquets. I have these same geraniums and hope I can hold them over the winter this year. Do you root cuttings for overwintering, or take your whole plant inside, or do they live over in your climate? I would hate to loose mine this winter...

I'm so glad I did a whole bed of lisianthus this year. Next year I might do 2! These Roseanne Terracotta lisianthus were the first variety I have to bloom.

I’ve never done containers with flowers on the front porch before. It faces south-southwest and it has been brutally hot this season in Charlottesville. That said, I’ve been pleased with this display. I keep adding things as needed, and they really do make the house look nice when it’s so gruesomely hot out there.
(Now I should go and water them 😳)

Madrone trees ought to be a protected species. We have some near our property but very few and they struggle. They are beautiful.

Teddahlia I had native Madrone trees on my property on Vashon Island, WA. They are messy but also beautiful. They continually shed bark, exposing their cinnamon colored limbs.
