Feeling better every day. Margaret said that at my worst I looked 10 years older. She said she waited to say that until after the procedure. Now, I only look 9 years older.

Teddahlia I love that bloom! I would pick so many of them for my house! And yes, I am very glad to hear that your pacemaker is reset to continue "pacing ". I bet this year's garden will become a lot more fun to work on as you heal from that! Literally "A new lease on life"...

Margaret approves most of the names for seedlings(I have acted independently on occasion due to an imminent time crunch). I am sure there will not be a Hollyhill Pacemaker. Yesterday, she vetoed a perfectly good name: Hollyhill Beavis after Beavis and Butthead. Note that I did not propose Butthead. 😳

Please give me your thoughts on what variety you think this is. Hopefully the tag is buried in the mulch...😣, and I haven't had my gloves with me, nor been in a digging mood.
As much as I can recall, I've had in my garden... 20th Ave and Baker Rd, Mt. Hood, Dave's Glacier, Blizzard, Ferncliff Pearl, 20th Ave Tradition, Hillcrest Amour. Center Court. Thanks!

Bessie I've only grown two of those on your list.
It's not Blizzard.
20th Ave & Baker Rd. is a tall plant with light green foliage and bloom is similar but has more petals so a possibility, but doubtful

Googling the ones I haven't grown - Dave's Glacier looks like it has a blush, so no. Mt. Hood is larger (5"), so no. Ferncliff Pearl is possible, supposed to have dark green foliage. 20th Ave Tradition is a ball and supposed to have a blush so no. Hillcrest Amour is supposed to have a blush, so no. Center court is larger (6"+), so no.

If the plant has dark green foliage, I would guess Ferncliff Pearl.
If the plant is tall with light green foliage, I would guess 20th Ave & Baker Rd.

Edit: After looking at a few more photos it looks like Ferncliff Pearl has more pointed florets than yours.
So, I have no clue. But is was fun looking at white cut dahlias.🙂

Bessie got my gloves out, and the answer is... Irish Ruffles. I didn't even have it on the list! 😔
I had another plant of it blooming in another area of the yard, and I didn't make the connection. Photos taken today

This is the bloom in another part of the yard that's been blooming for a few weeks. I wasn't impressed, but I'm learning you can't judge a Dahlia by it's first blooms of the season.

SteveM thank you for the research!! I spent a good deal of time looking online at photos of white dahlias before I posted.
I have a Ferncliff Pearl in another part of the yard that the gophers ate 1/2 of, and it hasn't bloomed. At this point Ferncliff Pearl is my guess. I think this means I'll need to take out my gloves and dig around in the soil for the tag to end the mystery...There is a pearl essence sheen to the petals.

Bessie here is my Ferncliff Pearl. Edited to say, we have totally different climates, but here in 4 years of growing it, I have never seen it without somewhat of a blush.

You might need a new Irish Ruffles. It can be a really pretty .

I recently visited the Mendocino Botanical Garden in Ft. Bragg, California. This Dahlia growing in the vegetable garden display didn't have a label, but I'm guessing it's Cornel Bronze. Please let me know your thoughts.

JessieC thanks for the input! I grow Rose Toscano and the flower at the Botanical Garden didn't remind me of it. I've had Cornel Bronze in my garden for several years, but I've never seen a bloom that I can remember.

Bessie To me, CB is more washed out in color than RT, which can vary much like an apricot. Some blooms have a bit of gradation. CB’s color is more flat.

Looks to me like Cornel Bronze. Those little points on the tips of the florets may be a clue as they look like other pictures. of CB.

Dahlia club meeting tonight. I am a bit tuckered out from digging dahlias in the nice weather but will go anyway.

Digging: We have dug six rows(easy rows) and I was working on the seventh row and my toes caught on a root as I was picking up a pile of dahlia stalks. It was like a giant leg cramp in my calf muscle. I can walk but I get called "Grandpa McCoy" after Walter Brennan's character on black and white TV. At least it does not hurt when I am on the computer.

Teddahlia boo. Hope your leg is better soon! It’s no good having a leg injury during digging season.

I got stung by a bumblebee on my earlobe this morning while cutting down stalks. It’s the first time I’ve ever been stung by anything (unless you count mosquitoes) while gardening. I noticed him napping in a spent bloom before I yanked that branch off. I guess I probably deserved it.
