I finally picked the first flower on "Willie Make It". ...I just couldn't resist. Now I am testing it as a cut flower in with my other late bloomers that I picked yesterday. (The Waterlilies are Hollyhills).I was not a yellow fan but this golden yellow is so cheery on a bleak November morning! ) Now we will see if the secondary buds make it to bloom! I picked this with a good 18" stem and even with the darkness of November the stem is strong enough to hold the flower head up well. I think
the flower is 5.5" across. No ruler handy and of course I have a dog asleep on my lap right now....:-)
