really nice variegated seedling that will take it's place.

KitCMC & Krista, I grew Frost Nip this past season and it really did well with tuber production, storage, and cuttings are turning out quite nicely thus far as well. I'm "hoarding" for now but might have a couple to spare when it comes to planting time.

I ordered 7 tubers from Swan Island this year, and the package just arrived, with beautiful apparently healthy tubers. They included 5 "bonus" tubers, when I was expecting only one bonus. I'm very, very surprised.😀 Sorta the opposite feeling compared to trying to buy online on a website's opening minutes, when one after another tuber disappears from availability.

Bessie Wow you hit the jackpot, five bonus tubers is a lot! And you’re right, it’s the exact opposite from the dahlia wars experience, how generous of Swan Island.

Bessie I think I had a case of wishful thinking on this Swan Island order... looking at the paperwork today, there was another invoice stuck under the paperwork. I paid for those "extra" dahlias! It was a fun thought while it lasted. Had to set the record straight! So, you may ask, why I didn't go check the binder where I keep a record all my orders... humm... perhaps I'm in denial of how many dahlias I've ordered for this season😁

AndreaB I placed the order with Swan Island on November 23. I live in a mild climate, 9b about an hour North of San Francisco. i was likely part of the first or second order to ship out.

AndreaB No. I don't think Bessie was one of the first customers for Swan Island. I put in an order in August when they reopen for the next season. Maybe someone was emptying the "Bonus Bin" before they closed up for the night....I like Swan Island. Good sturdy healthy tubers for the most part and helpful if you have a problem, as long as you are good mannered. I ordered Cupcake a few years ago and it bloomed open center with few petals,,,really a mess! But I sent a photo and was pleasant about it and was treated well and the tuber replaced the next season.

This is the first year I have not paid for early shipment on a Swan Island order. The funny part is that I am not sure whether I sent the first order I think I remember sending so I put in another slightly different order, So either I will get one package or two and I can go either way with it, I ordered some different ones on the 2nd order (If indeed there was a first order?)

I placed my Swan Island order in the first week of August (how was I so organized and prompt?) and am confident I didn’t pay for early shipping. It looks like they’ll begin shipping to WA in April which will do me just fine. I only ordered two tubers so I’m confident 5 bonus tubers is not in my future. 🤣

I see I am not the only one who can't remember whether they already ordered from Swan Island or not and can't get into their info with their password to check. I have either one order or two orders coming from Swan Island. If I get 2 orders some will be duplicates and some not. I may have to order grow bags to give them all a good start!

HiDahlia Hooray! Lobaughs is one seller I duplicated my order with, but I’m really excited for that delivery. Ms. Teresa reached out with interest in my duplicates so hoping help is on the way with my extras from them. It’s fun to hear that shipping has begun from those of you in different grow zones!
