I sent an email asking for approval for my order. I guess I will print one out to mail as well. All I have to lose is a stamp.

I regularly order from Birch Bay. They like doing it the old fashioned way and I like that they like it. Just pretend that it is 15 years ago. YOu look at what they have, write a list, put in a check and send it to them. If you do it right away chances are you will get what you asked for. If you are really antsy, have the envelope pre-addressed and stamped, print out your list and drive to a post office and mail it...then sit down, have a drink of what ever, and go do something else. YOu have heard about the "Slow flower movement"? THhs is the slow tuber movement....

calico20hill I like it too! While I personally can't imagine dealing with all that email and mail, I like that they have their own system and are sticking with how they want to do it. It also feels more personal to me, which is a nice feeling after placing countless orders from vendors I've had zero communication with. Also the madness of dahlia ordering online these days necessitates quick and efficient order processing. If it isn't smooth and perfect, the vendors are trashed on social media. I've read some particularly nasty comments lately. It just doesn't match up with the "dahlia culture" I know and love and it grosses me out, quite frankly.

I got my email confirmation so I am good to send in my check. So thankful for the heads up on their opening @janell . I have been checking and rechecking for months now and with the ice storm and power outage I wasn't on the ball yesterday.

I got email approval to submit my order. Thanks for mentioning it was open as I had my monitor pointed at a bad page. If you click on the wrong part of the Pricelist button it goes to an incomplete page and I thought that was a work-in-progress and I was watching that. The main page updated last evening.

Yes, I will try e-mailing today because heaven knows when the mail will even go out or be delivered. THe mail trucks couldn't get out of Portland with the local mail yesterday so there was no delivery. So I will email an order and put the check in the mail when we next get to town (hopefully today). And I bet Sandy and Steve will honor that because they are having the same storm but with stronger winds.

HiDahlia Oh I'm so happy to see we'll both be growing AC's Twisp and Tweedly Dum! AC Cowlitz sure is pretty, I am forever wishing for more space. As soon as all my tuber orders start rolling in, I'll probably be pretty noisy in our new 2023 Tuber Trades discussion. I mostly was interested in AC Tweedly Dum, it seems like the petal reverse might be lighter but that's hard to distinguish from the two photos provided. But then, I couldn't resist growing the pair! If Dee is successful, and you decide you might be interested in it, I will happily share a tuber with you for next year.

Krista I'm glad it's helpful! Sometimes you have to really look at the source code of the site to find the key words to monitor. (Google "view page source " and you'll come up with options for that.) In order for any tracking app to correctly identify when key words are present or missing they need to be entered exactly as they are spelled / formatted in the source code. For example, Out-of-Stock is different than out-of-stock or oos. It's not 100% foolproof but it makes things a little bit easier.

CiCiVacation Hi CiCi, I just joined this forum, and perused your new site! I’m a grower with a couple hundred dahlias (maybe more) in rotation. I’m on the hunt for Narrows Lori, which I think you had, but don’t anymore, or not enough to list? Do you have one tuber to part with for sale or trade? This one seems to be elusive! Thank you!

WanderingDahlias Concerning Narrows Lori- I don't currently have extras... as for trade, it depends where I am at planting time with that one. Often I just have too many tubers to plant and reduce how many of each variety that goes in the ground, but all my boxes are already shipped. That's when I donate to local clubs and friends find surprises on their front porches.

If you remember and are still looking, Memorial Day is a great time to send me an email as a reminder (cicivacation@aol.com). I'm always up for a great trade, and I'm often looking for oldies but goodies, not the flavor of the year.

WanderingDahlias Hello! I’ve been using “Uptime Robot” - the free version which pings every 5 minutes I believe. You can pay for alerts at a higher frequency but that feels like too much cost/tuber for my dahlia budget when all is said and done. I have found it to be very successful and the app makes it easy to set up queries. Best of luck!

Good news, Noni. I got a thumbs up for my order. I've been tempted to send another given how much is still marked available, but then I think of the tsunami of orders ahead of me in the mail... and I don't need any more! I ordered the new purple waterlily, Sandia Nocturne, the rest oldies like Wyn's King Salmon and Wyn's Farmer John. I also like Mick's Pink Peppermint and I've only seen it there.

I have been frantically searching for a confirmtion of my order to Birch Bay and finally wrote to Sandy to ask. She says I am getting everything on my order and whoops, she forgot to reply to me with all the ordering going on! Whewwwww! Happy afternoon for me...After missing out on any Hollyhill dahlias, if I had missed out on Birch Bay I would have sat down and cried! I am getting some old favorites from Birch Bay along with a couple of their new waterlilies.

calico20hill Hooray! I received confirmation for my order as well which also included a couple oldies and a couple new waterlilies that I’m very excited for.
