Y'all got me. I headed over to Chelan--and picked up Mel's Louisa!! I didn't think I would be able to find that one anywhere.

blown_dry I haven't seen Mel's Louisa since the 2010's on Accent Dahlias website. I'd recently thought about that one thinking it was just another extinct variety.
Krista I made a spreadsheet the other week cataloging what I'd bought, much I've spent, and realized I'd snatched up a BQ Jean from Del's. 😁

I noticed Chelan had AC Fernando but it looks not anything like what I grew last year so I refrained on buying that and a few others which I'm kinda sorta regretting now... not that there's any room for them anyway.

Krista I send highly apologetic spelling emails. I try not to make my problems into other people's problems. But it will help customers search! And it will help with search engines!

blown_dry That is incredibly gracious of you, and you’re right! It’s helpful too. I’m an over-apologizer, in life, with everything other than pointing out spelling errors 🫣 And I ordered a Mel’s Louisa too, we’ll be growing that one together this season! Maybe they’ll be tubers from the same mother.

Krista I sent prematurely, times two! I meant to say the picotee effect can be beguiling. There are some with, that my eyes always drift towards but I don’t think I actually want to grow, Polka is one that comes to mind.

There's so much classism and ablism bundled up with spelling and punctuation stuff that I try to tread carefully. Indulging my obsession with order and efficiency isn't worth piling onto all that. 😇

Has anyone seen photos of the New Introductions for this year? ADS used to publish them. Most recent ones appear to be '22 photos. They also stopped listing where one can buy them. With AC and Clearview not selling their own any more, I would love to know where I might buy some of the Trial Garden winners or those that did well on the Seedling Bench at shows.

addicted Others here are far more qualified and will have the answers you’re looking for, but I noticed Chelan Butte announced that they are now exclusively offering future Lakeview intros, and I believe Cowlitz River distributes exclusively for Accent, which I hope is a teensy helpful here for the future.

Our local Dalia Society (Elkhart Indiana) had a meeting last weekend where we watched and discussed an ADS slideshow of the new intros for the year. They included listings of places to purchase, although there were several Accent dahlias listed as being sold by Cowlitz which were not present at the sale opening. Not sure why. 🤷‍♀️. Maybe they’ll be listed later?

Krista I grew Tahoma Tempest last year and loved it but I only seem to have 2 "Iffy" tubers from it. I was hoping to find a dozen or so in my tuber boxes .... I will definitely grow it again if the tubers co-operate.

Krista THis is just a goofy ramble but after raising kids with dyslexia I notice that several of the dahlia growers seem to have it also. I would guess that it may go hand in hand with the interest in colors, forms, etc and the ability to obsess about them. In which case, it is a wonderful trait for a breeder to have but may make paperwork with them a bit challenging! I am glad we have a world where some can focus more on the artistic or obsess over perfecting a flower form by breeding carefully. And hope they all team up with a partner who obsesses over spelling, book keeping, and shipping out in a timely manner :-)

I agree with you, it would be a truly hideous world if we all had the same strengths. Good cause alone, for remembering the value in the balance of all brains, thank you.

I am not going to say anything negative here, but it looks as if the owners of the defunct "Julie's Dahlias" (not to be confused with Dahlias by Julie) have opened another online tuber sales business under the name of "Moore Blooms and More".

I will say that I received marketing email from the new business, presumably using the email addresses collected from customers of the former business because I did not opt in to such emails.
