Krista Krista, I had one horrible year with mildew. But what I discovered was that it had come in on some cuttings I bought and from there spread to my whole greenhouse, affecting everything that I then put out in my garden for the summer. So, I have not had any mildew since. I have avoided it by not growing cuttings from outside sources in my greenhouse....I start them in a different area and don't set them out with the others until they are outside during the day and the plants appear clean of mildew. And here it is mid Sept and NO MILDEW showing up in my garden!
I love propagating plant starts from cuttings but I now keep them totally separate until I am sure they are clean of mildew. If I trade with another grower they will be isolated9 the cuttings, not the grower!) Its is so lovely to have reached mid Sept and not have mildew! There is hope for next year!
