I've been dealing with a serious spider mite problem. I released predatory mites and spent the last 2 weeks removing affected leaves. Things are looking up, new growth looks good, but my plants are ugggggly. So please forgive the lack of in garden photos for the most part. 😊

MissyWeitzel I’ve had a horrible mite problem this year. My husband read it’s due to the cicadas. 🤷🏻‍♀️I released beneficials early on … Lots of $$$ … no luck. Sprayed Avid, then Forbid two weeks later, hours and hours pulling leaves into a huge trash bin. Crazy crazy work for these flowers.

Obviously, Margaret did not arrange this bouquet and whoever did so(of course it was me) forgot to turn the flowers so that they face the camera. All are seedlings. just picked for their color.

I have been working with Salish Twilight Girl trying to get the dark color back on the petal backs. I see way to many where it is a pink instead of the original dark red violet. I Also am trying to get seedlings of Salish Twilight Girl that are darker over all...

I was able to pick 3 seedlings last night that realized these goals, and if I could figure out how to post the pictures I would. Something seems to be blocking me and I can not figure it out.

Also, Erika/Windwatcher please contact me about this project. I could not find your address to send you pics last night.

Hollyhill Frosty Pink: This third year seedling flower was popular at our garden tour last year as a second year seedling.. Two people said it was their favorite in the seedlings. Today at the Portland Trial Garden one of tour participants asked me how it was doing. Margaret has been "over the moon ' about this one and her good friend Ginger Clack had to have it and got some stock from us(that is how we got the new anemone in a trade). I must admit I was not on the "Frosty Pink " bandwagon but it has done much better this year and this flower is very large at nearly 6 inches. Perhaps I should "eat crow" and say I like it.

Margaret is swooning over this second year seedling. She paired it with a bright orange flower and left it by the kitchen sink so I would see it in the morning. She even has a name for it that I need to verify before sharing.
