Oh boy! Among today's seedlings blooming I have the most beautiful little Twilight Girl seedling in a metallic gold and red violet! This is certainly the first time I have seen this combination and I hope I can keep it! I took a photo and I can NOT get it to show the colors my eyes see..,so frustrating! The petals have the same red violet on the backs but the petal tops are a soft palamino gold, There is some bleeding of the red violet color to tint that Palamino gold. Also, this is a miniature size...about 2.5" across. The closest description of the colors is something you might see in an artsy Western show as the hero rides off into the sunset...maybe a sunset with thunderheads looming and lit by the setting sun...it will be interesting to see this one develop its color changes over night...
If I were designing a dahlia I would have never thought to put these colors together!
