blown_dry Oh I’d love to hear your strategies! We normally work from home so we’ve actually never had a problem. This was just a crumby time to be out of town with tuber deliveries just beginning to arrive.

I love this about the dahlia community...how we are always ready to step in and help each other out! Then the flowers and tubers keep reminding us of our friends. I am hoping for a calm time now while Mr Calico heals and finds things he can do that he enjoys...and I can just mess around with my plants!

calico20hill I couldn’t agree more. It’s a wonderful feeling knowing we’re all here as a safety net for each other. Insurance we all will have beautiful flowers each summer. It’s truly a gift!

Juliarugula 🥹I’m positive they did not end up with what they were hoping for. I just wish they’d have returned it upon discovering so as it was the package I was most excited to receive this spring.

A good reason to recommend all sellers put blatant stickers all over the outside indicating Dept Ag inspection/plant material. Hopefully that would deter some. Although some thieves I'm sure don't bother to look.

bloomhjelm I’d hate to put the onus on our suppliers, and to be honest, I’m not sure package thieves take time to inspect what their swiping before they swipe. From the security recordings posted online by our neighbors, it seems they’ll swipe anything, and as swiftly as possible at that.

Krista Let me know what you lost, Krista! I’ve been pulling together the tubers that you and I talked about trading. If, by any chance, I have something else that fills a void, I am happy to provide it. I hadn’t even considered the possibility of people stealing the packages 😳

My PSDA sale shopping is done. It was a great but relatively tiny haul. I only really wanted Saddlerock Tiny Giant and I got it, and chatted with Linda Holmes Cook for just a minute. She said she's been growing it for seven years.

I did not have her sign my tuber. Next time.
