OK I'm just gonna cut to the chase - I only want one dahlia this year and you've all suffered my laments about losing it in the freeze last winter - Fern Ridge Pride . Please someone tell me you grew it, that it came true, and that you got extra tubers so I can buy one from you. Last year there were only a few in existence and they got snapped up in pre-sales. If you have one to sell me, please contact me in the messages.
I'm also culling my own collection and would like to get back down to about 50 varieties that are good cutters and make at least a few nice tubers every year.
I abhor hard openings! They are stressful. Not going to waste my time and money on them, only to spend all that adrenaline on coming up empty. It's no longer a pleasure. So many varieties I got last year were mis-labeled, or so wimpy that they should not even have been sold at all. Some arrived with completely broken necks, or rotten on the inside - obviously frost damaged. It was a disappointing year. I spent (and lost) hundreds of dollars. As a long time passionate dahlia enthusiast/hobbyist that is more than I can spend, especially this year.
