Teddahlia There was a guy who regularly posted on the gardenweb Hosta forum (back when that existed) that the way to transplant a hosta was to dig up the roots, grab it by the leaves and throw it back into the hole a few times to knock off the dirt, and then leave it sitting on the driveway for a week to show it who’s boss. Then you could plant it in its new location.
Of course, the toughness of any given variety is inversely correlated with how much money one spent on it. Also, the expensive ones taste the best to rabbits.
