I've had Kari Blue for a few years and it definitely can look bluish. The most notable thing to me about this variety is how the coloring makes the petals appear to be super delicate and thin crepe paper like, but they're actually pretty sturdy petals for a waterlily. Maybe the form isn't what you'd want in your breeding patch, but if it might help you get closer to a blue, PM me and I can trade or sell some to ya.
