MissyWeitzel When the damage faces the sun it is either water or pesticide damage.
Any water that doesn't evaporate on florets before the sun hits will act as a magnifying glass and burn.
I have found there are very few pesticides (fungicides, et al) that can be sprayed on open blooms without burning them, even in cool temps. It is a double whammy when they are sprayed on hot days and don't evaporate before the sun hits.
If the damage is distributed evenly and not more pronounced on the upper part of the bloom then it is likely pest damage. If the damage is only on the lower half of the bloom then it is almost always pests.
