SteveM It's a deep salmon pink. I don't have a comparable in the field. Definitely in it's own color class. I'll grab a photo with it next to a burgundy, true red, and pink.

Teddahlia Oh dreamy, she just glows! I’m finding myself really drawn to blooms with cooler hues on the reverse of petals. I love this one!

Cosey I’m a third with SteveM and AndreaB, the color is fabulous, I don’t grow anything in a salmon color with this level of intensity! I’d trip over myself to have her blooming in my garden.

Teddahlia Those colors are amazing! I would love to work with those in flower arrangements. You all can keep your intense reds, yellow, and hot pinks. I will take the in-between colors like these every time !

Teddahlia Definitely a keep. Two tone dahlias are gaining in popularity thanks to Noni's Twilight Girl. That one has captivated the hearts of American growers.

Noni: We have several of the popular color flowers in the first and second year seedlings. When the tour was here a person identified one that we had passed over several times as we are stuck in the past and like the brighter colors. We have marked it to keep and I wish in way I could just send it to her and be done with it. Ooops, did I say that? I am starting to appreciate some of the colors and the brick red ones sort of appeal to me. I told Margaret that a seedling was brick red and she said I was wrong. Perhaps I am not quite there yet.

OK, here is my dahlia seedling question for today...would this qualify as a peony dahlia? It is a seedling of Salish Twilight Girl...first noticed it today as I was recording what was in the row, I have never been interested in the peony form but this is just too cute! It is a smaller plant and the flowers are between 2 aand 3". It has that fabulous STG coloring but it is a small bush and the flower is small and unabashedly open centered.

And yeh, that is how we do first aid in the dahlia patch...When you slice your finger and it is dripping the red stuff but you don't want to go inside because the sun is leaving the patch where you are checking things...

It would be Novelty open center dahlia. Here is our newest one marked a few minutes ago and it is only 3 inches in diameter.

Open pollinated out of our private breeding waterlily. All of her hand crosses have bloomed.
