calico20hill Oh I didn’t know they were what put Vashon on the map, but I’ve heard a very sweet story about the woman who had the last patch of them before selling her home (as told to us anyway 😅). We were gifted our first starts from our neighbor who sourced them from the folks who bought her house (supposedly!). They are very tasty when they are perfectly ripe. We really enjoy our patch or Shuksans too, but the texture and flavor is very different.

We don’t net, or protect from birds so the more we grow the better - we just take whatever can get.
