Shattering is big a negative trait for us. Got rid of Ms. Kennedy as the seedlings shattered.
When we are looking at them in the garden it is difficult to evaluate for vase life. I am going to post a picture of a flower that has super vase life. The bouquet is on our kitchen table. We picked the bouquet on 09-28-23 at about 8AM and here we are at 10-02-23 and the colors are still bright, no wilt, no brown petals and only a couple is showing pollen. I am used to seeing color dim after picking and this one is still bright pink. How is that for teaser?
Wedding colors used to be just white and then the infamous Cafe' au Lait was resurrected from the crypt as it was a loser from the 1960s-1970s. Martha Stewart must have been paid big money to declare it to be the perfect wedding flower. It has opened the door for the "Blah, blah, blah" colors that we used to cull all the time. One has to keep up with the times and we are selecting these weird colors to evaluate.
