SteveM
SteveM the same bias for a variety classified as a B size but grown to an A size?
Yes, the A sized B-bloom will attract the judges if grown well. I've seen a preference for larger blooms generally at our local shows. An exception being if a bloom is overly large with the bloom becoming coarse (exhibiting undesirable characteristics in Form, such as petals being gappy, bearded or otherwise showing a distorted bloom shape.) It is not coincidental that growers who submit larger blooms are generally the "better" growers, who conscientiously disbud and nurture their plants to achieve competitive blooms. Also, larger blooms are usually on larger, thicker stems that also impress the judges.
