  • Happy Dahlia-days!

Merry Christmas, happy holidays and happy New Year dahlia friends!! May 2025 be a fabulous year!

One of the only red dahlias I grow. This is HH Tiger Rose and she’s a beauty!

Most often, when a variegated variety sports to a solid color it is not a very attractive color. The red sport of HH Tiger Rose is a very nice, non-fading, clean color and stands on its own.

To go with the red dahlia-day theme! Gilly's Swan Song from 2014. Probably extinct unfortunately.

Wow both of those are gorgeous! Here is my only photo of a holiday-ish dahlia. This was the last gasp of the garden, on November 10, in fact. The big red one is Apopa Cindy, which I received in a trade from @Krista Thank you for bringing this fun beauty to my collection!
Happy Holidays to all of you! I’ve been down with covid, which is why I’ve been quiet for a few weeks. Here’s to a happy and healthy 2025. I’m so grateful for all of you 😊

JessieC Thank you for sharing the happy bouquet! Best wishes for your recovery from Covid to speed on up! 🫂 My wife & I were celebrating our 24th anniversary today, and just capped the evening with her tossing her cookies in dramatic fashion…I’m afraid our household’s coming down with something, too. 🤞 Hoping we will get it out of our systems & enjoy a healthier beginning of the new year!

Here’s my Holi-dahlia photo. Hollyhill Masquerade. I was tickled to get a tuber from Allison at Kale Lane dahlias to grow this year. Really dramatic blooms in person, really loved them! One of many wonderful varieties from Margaret & Ted that have made me smile, growing in my garden.

DarcyD So beautiful, Darcy! Happy Holidays & fabulous new year wished to you, too!

If you keep track of such things Masquerade was a seedling of HH Court Jester. And of course Court Jester was a seedling of HH Jokers Wild.

JessieC You are most welcome, Apopa Cindy looks so pretty in your end of season arrangement! And I hope you’re beginning to feel better very soon, so sorry to hear you’ve been under the weather over the holidays.

Laia Happy anniversary to you and your wife; I do hope you can celebrate properly once everyone is feeling better. Your Hollyhill Masquerade is lovely!
