Yes, unboxing can be a whole thing. I know in the past I have set up outside with a container for compostables like paper/perlite/shavings/peat moss, a bag for peanuts/bubble wrap, a garbage bag for fiberglass insulation/plastic bags/plastic tape, and a pile of flattened boxes. Sometimes I peel the tape off of boxes and compost, other times they just go in the recycling. Also required, a garden marker for writing names on tubers that don't have that already and creating labels and a bunch of pots half filled with potting soil. It's so easy to clicky-clicky at sale time...
