I recently learned that many people microwave their Root Riots. I had no idea why I was getting so many gnats in past years and now I’m pretty sure that is why. So this year I’ve nuked my Root Riot and it seems to have really helped.

I also got gnats in my TW order. I didn’t think to Mosquito bit dunk them. Wonder if it’s too late?

DarcyD treat them as soon as possible for gnats! If you see even one gnat, likely more are coming soon. From all my failures treating gnats I now know being aggressive is the best strategy. As some of my seedlings await planting, just yesterday I gave every seedling a dose of BTi solution at 3 teaspoons per gallon.

It depends on if they have spread I suppose. I did dunk mine before taking them into the greenhouse and no more trouble with mine. They are outside again getting used to our climate and look healthy with no sign of gnats. Maybe make up a dose of mosquito dunk water and water everything to make sure they are not colonizing or what ever they do...If I see any further sign of gnats around those two I will treat them again but so far so good.

These work really well too. Both Raid and Zevo (sp?) Make them. They're just little nightlights with sticky blue replaceable inserts. You could plug one in where you're having an issue to help catch any that are flying around.
