Oddly, I most often look at suppliers' images and want to volunteer to Photoshop their images for them, rather than think they should do it less. Commercial photography is a skilled job. I don't claim to have those skills, but it's not a matter of 'natural' vs. 'altered'. I did do that for a new supplier once just because their stuff was cool.
I keep a photo record of my orders, and I look up available photos to pick a fave. Sometimes there is one photo available, and I fix it up to suit myself. I find it fun.
