Hello, quick question about registration for the show - last night, Mr. Baulig said that this was free but I see a registration form to complete on the website. I of course won't be showing or judging, but I do want to be able to join for tours, seminars, awards, etc. I am happy to register! I just don't want to if that would mean I'm signing up for more participation than I'll be prepared for! 😅

Krista, I think we just pick and choose off the registration form for what we are interested in, It looks like that form includes everythng from meals to tours to other activities. I think I might just be bringing muffins from home for my breakfast...I don't need a $20 one every moning, LOL. Of course we do a lot of socializing over meals. THe box lunches for the tours is a great idea though because who wants to have to search for a meal when out with the group. And every meal eaten together is a chance to meet and talk with more people. I wonder if the hotel has other options if one doesn't want a full meal? Like do we just have reserved meals? Portland has so many good eating places that my son used to take us to! Who knows what is where there though after the Covid epidemic. Food trucks do abound . I have attended lectures at these shows andt hey were almost always excellent and full of good information.

calico20hill Ah yes I see! Thank you, yes I'm not sure I'll join for all breakfasts either and perhaps not make it into town in time for Thursday's tour. But I do not want to miss the tours Fri-Mon! I'll plan on driving separately but perhaps by August, I'll feel more comfortable boarding a bus. I do love the idea of being able to have more opportunities to chat with smiley dahlia lovers!

Was just notified that Portland Dahlia Society members gave up their seats in the buses for the Hollyhill tour so that waiting list folks can go - which is making it possible for my parter and me to now go. Thank You to all PDS members who were part of this, I am SO excited to be able to visit Hollyhill this month!

What happened was that Margaret volunteered to have an open house on Saturday of Labor Day weekend. 11 to 3pm. The club agreed to pay for a "Porta Potty". The affair is totally "on your own" for food and drink and nothing will be provided.

I’m so jealous of all you guys that are going to tour Ted’s and Margaret’s garden! It would unfortunately be a bit of a trek from Indiana. I wish I could go - please post pictures!

Krista, I am happy that you and your partner will get to see Hollyhill. You will not be disappointed! I do look forward to seeing you and giving you a hug! I will be the tall hobbling white haired senior with the short pal.....Dang knee and ankle are still swollen from my fall through the deck. But we never let things like that stop us from garden tours do we?! I do plan to bring my cane...

I did pretty well today by sitting while working in the garden. Still wearing the ankle brace but not too much swelling above it today Some, but not TOO MUCH... I think as long as i have a place to sit down when I need to I will do fine with it. I would not want to have to stand for a long time. I am really bummed about the timing on this! (As if we could "time"
accidents!

I sure would love to see it but not sure how the timing and energy levels will work out. I grow a lot of Allen's dahlias.They are special!

calico20hill I agree, timing is tight. I’m not sure I’ll find a tim-window to make this happen but it is a very sweet offer. I’d love to see Allen’s Dahlias operation. I’m only growing a few Allen’s and I’d love to see more!
