Ted, have you thought about doing a "Catio" for your house cats? We built one for the kitties we got a year ago. It goes on the end of our house that is most private...It is a nice little outdoor room that is in the fresh air but covered with a greenhouse roof to keep the rain off. There are shelves for them to climb on and sleep, old tree limbs to climb, and they get to watch all the birds but not to eat them. I also keep their litter box out there so it does not perfume the house. They can watch the birds in the nearby trees, but they do not get to eat them. I think they still like it anyhow. And yes, we know that coyote, and cougars and other wild creatures walk though our place . Deer wander along the creek. And the kitties stay safe and get to watch them. But they can also come in through their kitty door and spend time with us when ever they want to, We were kind of fed up with loosing our furry friends to cougars etc back on the Island. But it is fun to have these guys romping all over and living the best of both indoor life and outside life.
