I’ve been thinking about the staging medium thing for the last couple weeks before show season ramps up. I am very inexperienced at showing dahlias, but what about using floral tubes within another medium?
Like what about a big ball of clay that wouldn’t dry out, shoved in the bottom of my container, then the floral tube shoved into the ball of clay? It could still be readjusted, though perhaps not was easily as foam can be. It could still get heavy, but I don’t think you would need to fill the cup by any means.
I thought about play dough initially, but that would dry out. Or at least the top layer would, so I guess you could take off the crusty top and reuse it. Or just pop out the floral tube and clean that part out for the next show. But again, inexperienced show-er here so i may have blind spots with this plan.
